I just spent the last couple of hours on the phone with a couple of great friends of mine-Howard Ashkinos and Charles Young. We had a great time reminiscing about the past, dreaming about the future, talking about our families, and being grateful for God's purpose in our lives. Friendships are a gift of God and a way to draw closer to Him. Friends are there to encourage you during life's difficult times, to celebrate the great times, and true friends are there for your life's journey. Below are some of my favorite versus on friends.
Romans 5:11
So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.
Revelation 3:20
“Look! I (Jesus) stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.
Isn't it great to know that we are friends of God? In Jesus Christ we can have an intimate relationship with Him. As you press in Closer to God this month remember that He loves you and wants to have a personal relationship with You! For many years as a Christian, I didn't even know what that meant. Have a personal relationship, with someone I can't see...what?
Through spending time with God in prayer, reading the Bible, and through connecting with Christian friends, you can begin to improve your relationship with Him. And then one day, you can look forward to Jesus knocking on your door and sharing a meal...maybe even some enchilada's montanas, :)
Prayer Focus: Pray that your relationship with God gets Closer as you come to know Him more.
